Ten things to screw up when putting out an ebook:

As the Internet has gotten larger and more prolific, it can be difficult to research and find the exact information you need. E books have filled this need with instant, tailored information, delivered for a price. Publishing an e-book is much easier than publishing a paper book, and it can pay even better. Thanks for sharing. Ten things to screw up when putting out an e-book: It’s too long. This sucker is 220+ pages! I didn’t know that eBooks were better off at a shorter length. People don’t tend to read for hours on end on a digital screen, and they tend to go for shorter eBooks for that reason. It’s too expensive. At $36, it offers great value given all the stuff I packed into it, but people are used to paying less for eBooks. Even worse, by blowing out all my info in one book, I had no follow up book to up-sell the writers who bought the first book.  I wasn’t creating a sales machine like you want. I just had a one-off product. Again, I probably would hav...

BENEFITS OF TURMERIC: POSTS FROM MY READERS

I am a woman almost 60 yrs. old who has suffered from RA since 31 yrs. of age. I was taking 2 x-strength ibuprofen daily for over 20 yrs. until recently, when a doctor told me I should stop. I didn’t know it, but long term use of ibuprofen, can cause severe insomnia (which I had), as well as a host of other problems, and since quitting taking it about 4 weeks ago, I’ve been sleeping like a baby!   But of course, my pain has got a lot worse, so I started making myself a special smoothie every day for lunch, which helps a ‘lot’! I put one banana, about 3/4 c. f.f. plain yogurt, 1/2 c. frozen cranberries and about 1 c. of frozen mixed fruit, (strawberries, blueberries, blackberries, raspberries, cherries) together with 1/2 – 1 tsp. of powdered turmeric, 1 tsp. of fresh chopped ginger, 1 tsp. of cinnamon, and mix it all up in my blender and voila! Delicious, and after drinking it every day since stopping the ibuprofen, my pain is minimal. I know it’s the smoothies too that help, b...

WORLD WATER SCARE!

I've always thought my Brita filter was doing a decent job keeping my drinking water clean. But sadly, I was DEAD wrong. Sure, the Brita does a good job of getting dirt and some of the smaller particles out of your water... But it does NOTHING for the really bad junk that's hiding in your tap water. Things like fluoride, pharmaceuticals and arsenic that can make you sick, unhealthy and accelerates your aging. Thankfully, here's some good news... Scientists have found a way to purify the nastiest, chemical-laced and parasite-infested water - all in a breakthrough new device that eliminates those contaminants from your water almost instantly while using no electricity and no moving parts. Not only does it do an incredible job of getting all of the brain-damaging and cancer-causing chemicals out of your water, but your water will just flat out taste better too. All in a compact package that lasts for up to 5,000 gallons. You can see a live demo of it in ...

"Keep your head up and always push forward. You CAN. You WILL.

"I sit here at McDonalds, drinking a sprite. Okay, it's my third sprite. A lady and a small boy stands in the corner... A man gets up and walks towards the door. She speaks. "Good morning sir, could you spare some cash so I can get a cheeseburger? All I have is enough for my son's  happy  meal.' He looks around to see if anyone is watching.  'Screw you, Starve, you F....! .' He says and walks out the door. She just shakes her head and walks to the counter with the boy. She orders a happy meal for the boy. The teen at the counter tells her her card left a balance of 37 cents. She and the boy walk to her beat-up Chevy car where she digs and finds the change. She and the boy sit down with the happy meal, and she sets up his food and his tiny drink cup.  She asks him if mommy can have a fry, to which he feeds her the one he just took a bite off of.(I kinda chuckled to myself.) I walk to the soda machine and refill my cup, Powerade this time. And the teen...

HOME IS WHERE THE STRESS IS!

I remember when Time Magazine called stress the “Epidemic of the 80’s” in its cover story back in 1983. I was so excited to see that Time Magazine, a popular and accepted news source, was talking about something the medical profession rarely recognized back then. With more than 30 years of wisdom since, not much has changed in many ways: stress continues to plague us and contribute to a myriad of health challenges and I see it in my patients every day. In fact, many of them tell me that life in the 80’s seems calm in comparison to the busy pace of life now.

THE GREAT SACRIFICE

He is...the "Nameless One" who has so many names, and yet whose names and whose very nature are unknown. He is  the  "Initiator," called the "GREAT SACRIFICE." For, sitting at the threshold of LIGHT , he looks into it from within the circle of Darkness, which he will not cross; nor will he quit his post till the last day of this life-cycle . Why does the solitary Watcher remain at his self-chosen post? Why does he sit by the fountain of primeval Wisdom , of which he drinks no longer, as he has naught to learn which he does not know—aye, neither on this Earth, nor in its heaven? Because the lonely sore-footed pilgrims on their way back to their  home  are never shure to the last moment of not losing their way in this limitless desert of illusion and matter called Earth-Life. Because he would fain show the way to that region of freedom and light, from which he is a voluntary exile himself, to every prisoner who has succeeded in liberating himself from t...

DIABETICS-WHY YOU SHOULD TAKE CHROMIUM PICOLONATE

Dear Member   I've been a diabetic type 2 for 30 years and am using the mineral, chromium picolinate as part of my sugar control. I was about to write this blog post on the subject of the hidden sugars in diabetic "safe" medicines and foods, but prefered instead to set straight the damaging  recent scare stories about chromium supplements that have appeared in the press. Chromium is a mineral that many people use to help with blood sugar control and weight loss. So it was alarming to see headlines claiming that taking it could cause cancer .  The source of this surprising claim is a study carried out at the University of Sydney, Australia. It used laboratory cultures of fat cells from mice – artificially kept alive in an environment far removed from a living body . These cells were bathed in the kind of chromium found in supplements, so-called chromium-III.  Using a fancy piece of X-ray technology, the researchers found that a small proportion of the chrom...
